Success Stories

MCR supports young people to have a voice in their future. They are encouraged to find, grow & use their talents and, with the support of a mentor, young people are given the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Why Mentoring Matters

Positive Destinations

MCR transforms lives. In our most recent 2018 Impact Report, 86% of mentored leavers progressed to positive destinations (full-time employment, further education, or higher education) vs. 51% of care-experienced non-mentored leavers.

There’s amazing potential in our vulnerable young people, potential that’s often buried because of difficult life experiences. Mentors bridge talent with opportunity. By spending just one hour a week listening and being there for your young person you will empower them to unlock their potential.

Our Community

Young People

There is potential in each and every young person, but, for many, circumstances make it difficult for them to realise it. Our aim is to help our young people unlock this potential, realise their skills, and progress onto a positive destination.

Mentors

MCR’s mentors are supporting Scotland’s young people with a caring approach and a listening ear. Our volunteers meet with their mentees for an hour a week. Mentors help young people build aspirations and are a gateway to opportunities, including university, college and employment.

Schools

Schools are an essential part of the MCR community. The strong partnerships we build help us all support young people to find, grow and use their talents. Click the button to hear more from the schools we work with.

Partners

We rely on committed partners to support and inspire our young people. Our Partners include organisations of all sizes, from local businesses to national corporations. Support also comes from local authorities, including Glasgow City Council and its ALEOs.

Mentor Ambassadors

We are proud to have mentors who want to support MCR by sharing our story and encouraging more mentors to join. Mentor Ambassadors actively support us with events and sharing their experiences of mentoring with friends, family and colleagues. We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested.
