Supporting MCR to Provide the Best Opportunities for our Young People
Across the nation, organisations large and small and from diverse sectors are supporting MCR Pathways to ensure that all young people, no matter their circumstances, get the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person.
Our partners encourage and support their staff to mentor a young person during the school day.
Our partners open their doors and host our young people on half day Talent Taster work experiences.
In addition to making a transformation impact on education outcomes for our countries most disadvantaged, mentoring also brings enormous benefits to organisations and their teams.
Increasingly, businesses and organisations are recognising the wider benefits of volunteering. In fact, one of the most effective ways to engage your workforce is through providing quality and impactful volunteering.
Research has shown that the best leaders are those leaders who can empathise with people. The best way that you can really learn to empathise with people is to work with others... in a very non-judgemental way.
I am hugely excited by the potential opportunities of this partnership with MCR Pathways. Their programme has proven results in terms of helping bring greater stability to the lives of a number of young people who have too few adults in their lives they can look to for support.
BITC Scotland is delighted to support MCR Pathway's arrival in Edinburgh. This is an excellent example of great collaboration between responsible business and the local community and we wish the project every success.
