MCR Pathways College Development Network Partnership Raise Attainment

MCR Founder & CEO Iain MacRitchie took centre stage at recent a event. The College Development Network hosted the event School – College: Raising Attainment Through Partnerships to discuss how to improve student outcomes.

CDN works in partnership with colleges across Scotland, bringing them together to create new opportunities and best practice, supporting the sector through their vision of ‘leading, creating and sharing’.

Ensuring our young people reach a positive destination, including college, when they’re ready to leave school is a critical MCR objective.

Significantly, the College Development Network invited Iain to the event to share the MCR’s programme. As part of the programme, S3/S4 our young people enjoy Talent Taster experiences. These are half day intro sessions which open up the world of college, university and employment. These tasters spark aspirations  and our young people are inspired and supported to achieve those ambitions. We also work with Glasgow’s further and higher education institutions to ensure our young people are supported beyond school.

Mentor Young Glaswegians with MCR

Our expansion into all 30 Glasgow secondaries means we have many more inspiring young people asking for MCR’s help. Young people across the city need mentors. Undeniably mentoring works – it improves confidence, educational outcomes and future life chances. Can you help them? Find out more about becoming a mentor.

Additionally, organisations play a huge support role. Can your organisation host our young people for a day? Join our Talent Taster programme, alongside our partners, and help young people realise their aspirations! We can’t wait to work with you! Help us offer our city’s most needy a gateway to opportunities at university, college and employment.

We’re always looking for new mentors to reach all the new young people who are coming on board with the programme. Help us spread the word by letting your friends and family know how worthwhile mentoring can be!
