Laura began her mentoring journey in S3 facing low confidence, a challenging home environment and a lack of focus regarding her post school future.
Laura's academic excellence
Her immediate need was to stabilise her school engagement. Laura was matched with Val whose consistency was crucial.
Val helped Laura to identify her talents and nurtured her through 61 dedicated meetings. In S4 Laura secured 6 Nat 5 qualifications, including 2 A’s. In S6 she achieved 3 Highers. Laura secured a positive destination, upon leaving school, enrolling in Business Admin at College to pursue a level 6 Advanced Certificate.
