Welcome to the very first edition of Vital Sparks, our digital magazine celebrating the incredible difference our supporters make.
This first edition of Vital Sparks tells the story of how, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, 2025 has already been a year of growth. MCR Pathways is now reaching even more young people across the UK — from cities and small towns to rural and island communities, north to south.
Inside, you’ll meet our first group of grassroots fundraisers, from Kiltwalkers who wore out their soles to bakers who whipped up workplace treat tables — all in support of building the UK’s most impactful mentoring programme.
You’ll also read real mentoring stories made possible through this support. Like Ellie and Karon, whose weekly Uno games and honest chats helped Ellie go from counting down the hours to leave school to choosing to stay, study, and plan for college. And Gregor and Gary, whose shared school struggles sparked a bond that transformed Gregor’s attitude, attendance, and future.
