One person. Three cities. Nearly 60 miles for young people who have had the most unfair start in life.
MCR Pathways CEO, Sharon McIntyre, is lacing up her boots and taking on not one, not two, but three Mighty Stride Kiltwalks this year in support of our life-changing mission.
Sharon is walking the Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh Kiltwalks, each a massive 18 to 20 mile trek, as part of her personal Three Walks Challenge. Her goal is simple but powerful: to raise vital funds that will help transform the lives of young people from care-experienced and wider challenging backgrounds across the country.

Reflecting on why this year’s challenge is particularly meaningful, Sharon said:
“I have taken part in Kiltwalk events for many years, but this year 2025 – is particularly special – it marks my one year anniversary of working shoulder to shoulder with our incredible mentors, inspiring young people, amazing teams and pioneering partners across the UK.
“One event did not seem enough to recognise and raise awareness of the life-changing impact Young People share with us – across many communities – from London to Stornoway. What better way to thank everyone for their MCR – Motivation, Commitment and Resilience!”
As CEO and as a mentor, Sharon sees every day the transformational differences mentors are making to the lives of young people. She also knows how crucial funding is to making those mentoring connections happen. But too many young people are still missing out on the support they need to thrive, in school, out of school and beyond.
Every step and every penny makes a difference
When young people have had the most unfair start in life, they can lose their way for the rest of it. Our mentors, supporters and our teams, like Sharon are doing all they to change that story by raising awareness and funds for MCR Pathways
Sharon’s steps are paving the way for more young people to be matched with a mentor. Every donation made in support of her challenge brings more of these vital relationships to life.
Your donation helps MCR Pathways connect young people with someone who truly cares: a mentor, a guide, a friend. Someone who believes in them.
