We’re proud to take part in this year’s #NoWrongPath campaign to raise awareness of a range of career routes and pathways that will always remain open to realising potential, no matter what results day brings.
Launched in 2017, No Wrong Path is a social media movement by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW). It has won awards and offers inspiration and reassurance to young people getting their results. This year, Results Day is on Tuesday, 5th August and we’re sharing stories from our team, mentors and supporters to show young people there are always options, no matter what news the day may bring later this week.
Next up is Mandy Choi, Head of Engagement and Influencing at MCR Pathways, and one of our first ever mentors.
“When I left school, I was the first in my whole family to go to University and it was very daunting! I was very lucky to be supported by my school and GCU’s Widening Access Team (Caledonian Club). I worked as a Student Mentor at GCU while progressing through my Business degree, and then did an ‘Industrial Placement’ year at Coatbridge College. All of which only solidified and further fuelled my passion for working in education.
“This, coupled with my own lived experience of social work involvement and growing up in an area of need, I saw first hand how many barriers there were for people like me to access opportunity. Throughout my career I have worked in outreach, advice, guidance, support across Colleges and Universities and even a small stint working in Scottish Football with those at risk of offending using the power of football as a tool.

“During that time, I undertook my Post Grad in Careers Guidance and Development. Fast forward to today, I am so proud of the work we do at MCR Pathways, being supported by the most amazing mentors for the most amazing young people. I’ve mentored for 8+ years and am so proud to be one of our longest serving mentors. Most importantly, I’m a proud mum to two amazing boys and I want them to see their Mum doing something meaningful and purposeful. Always be kind!”
If Mandy’s story has inspired you to share your own, there’s still plenty of time for you to get involved, to inspire and reassure young people. We welcome everyone involved with MCR Pathways to share their stories – from young people, mentors, trustees, partners and our wider supporters.
From Monday 4th – Friday 8th August 2025, tell us your name, what you did when you left school and what you do now. Print out and fill in the #NoWrongPath 2025 template below, and send a photo of you holding it to marketing.comms@mcrpathways.org
