No Young Person Should Feel Alone – Share an Hour in 2022

At MCR Pathways, we believe that a young person’s future should be determined by their talents and never their circumstances.

It’s true for anyone that when life going on around us is overwhelming, it’s difficult to concentrate on work, or studies. For some young people, circumstances outside of their control make growing up even harder for them than for their peers and thinking about the future is just too hard to focus on. That’s why we are asking for volunteers to share an hour and provide more young people with a mentor who’s there just for them. So no young person feels alone and they have a champion there to help them succeed.

We’re excited to launch our new campaign and hope that more people than ever before will #ShareAnHour to help a young person, find, grow and use their talents. MCR has been developing its award-winning mentoring programme since 2007 and we hope to make 2022 a record-breaking year.

MCR will be launching in new local authorities, continuing to work with mentors and partner organisations, to grow our community of committed volunteers who are helping us reach every young person who needs that support.

At MCR we carefully match young people with a mentor to meet for just one hour a week, in their school. This one to one relationship makes a profound impact on their confidence and future. You don’t need any qualifications or experience, just the desire to make a difference. The programme is supporting 3,500 young people each week and operates in the following local authorities throughout the country:

Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Clackmannanshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hertfordshire, Highland, North Ayrshire, Perth & Kinross, Shetland, South Lanarkshire & West Dunbartonshire. Please follow our social media for more details of new areas coming soon, or join our website mailing list.

There are still so many pupils who need a mentor – someone to chat with, to listen and to encourage them. Can you share our campaign with your friends, colleagues and neighbours? Help us grow our community and move one step closer to our goal where all young people are defined by their talents, and never their circumstances.

Are you someone who can #ShareAnHour and support a young person to achieve everything they can in life? Sign up and become a mentor today!
