MCR Pathways Signs Mentoring Partnership Agreement with Robertson Group

1 April 2026

MCR Pathways is delighted to announce a new partnership with Robertson Group, marking a shared commitment to nurture ambition and create lasting, positive change in the lives of young people across the UK.

Together, MCR Pathways and Robertson Group will support young people to overcome barriers, navigate challenges and realise their potential.

This will be delivered through the charity’s award-winning mentoring programme across schools, further education and community settings, helping to create clear pathways to sustainable futures.

The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations and will see Robertson Group further its support for young people by helping them overcome barriers, navigate challenges and achieve better outcomes in education and employment.

MCR Pathways recently secured an additional £1 million investment from the Scottish Government

This funding will support the charity, alongside Robertson Group and other national and community partners, to expand the roll out of its Trusted Adult Guarantee, reaching up to a further 5,500 young people across Scotland.

Robertson Group will provide opportunities for employees to become mentors, raise awareness of MCR Pathways’ work across its business and supply chain, support fundraising activities and offer in-kind contributions. It will also build on MCR Pathways’ mentoring programme with supported work experience placements.

About Robertson Group

Driven by a mission to assure sustainable futures, Robertson Group is one of the largest family-owned construction, infrastructure and support services businesses in the UK.

The Group provides expertise across the built environment life cycle, including development, construction, facilities management, civil engineering, timber engineering and strategic services. It plans, constructs, finances and manages buildings and facilities for customers across the UK.

This partnership also builds on a long-standing relationship between Robertson Group and MCR Pathways. Graeme Hannah, Director of Sustainability and Social Impact at Robertson Group, currently serves as a Trustee of the charity.

The Robertson 2030 Responsible Business Strategy sets out ambitious targets to enhance 10,000 lives, create £1 billion of social value, and support inclusive economic growth. This new partnership will play an important role in delivering these commitments and creating a lasting legacy for individuals, communities and the wider economy.

Elliot Robertson, Chief Executive Officer of Robertson Group, said: “Mentoring has the power to change lives. Partnering with MCR Pathways allows us to make a tangible difference for young people while also supporting the communities at the heart of our business. This collaboration is another step in our commitment to delivering positive impact through our people, our projects and our partnerships.”

Expanding the impact of a Trusted Adult

MCR Pathways currently delivers its award-winning mentoring programme in 163 secondary schools, further education institutions and community settings across 22 local authorities in Scotland. This new funding will support expansion to reach all local authorities nationwide.

Since its founding in 2007, the charity has supported around 18,000 young people through its trusted adult mentoring model across Scotland and has expanded service provision into the south east and north east of England.

MCR Pathways reaffirmed its commitment and urged policymakers to ensure every young person who needs support has access to a trusted adult mentor, through its Manifesto launched last month ahead of the forthcoming Scottish Parliament.

Sharon McIntyre, CEO of MCR Pathways, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Robertson Group, an organisation that shares our unwavering commitment to supporting young people across the UK. Together, we can amplify our impact, reach even more young people who need our support and create lasting change.”

From businesses and local authorities to charities, schools and community organisations, everyone has a role to play in ensuring every young person has someone to help them find their path.
