Introducing the Mentoring Resource Boxes

At MCR we love to hear from our young people and mentors about how to help make their mentoring meetings engaging, fun and relaxed for everyone. We’ve heard many inspiring stories about mentors who have brought in games or special activities to do with their young person to help them feel at ease during their meetings, particularly in the early weeks of getting to know each other. So, to help roll this idea out further, we’ve been busy designing, packing and delivering our fantastic new mentoring boxes to provide resources in every school that mentors and young people can take advantage of if they wish!

Our fantastic mentor services team have been working together to build our first ever resource boxes for every school.

The boxes contain some popular and familiar games and ice breaker ideas, as well as felt tips and pencils which we will be sure to keep refreshed. We really hope they will become a helpful resource in every school to support our mentors and mentees during their meetings. Please ask your Pathways Coordinator for more details so you can take a look.

If you have any ideas you’d like to share, or if you work for an organisation who could help sponsor games and activities for our resource boxes we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch with our Mentor & Volunteer Relationship Manager Elspeth on elspeth.spalding@mcrpathways.org or email the team at mentor.services@mcrpathways.org.
