Every young person has a spark of ambition

But with an unfair start in life – and the weight of feeling alone – it’s easy to lose your way. With a mentor, everything changes. Awaken their ambition.

Volunteering one hour a week has the power to change a life.

When you’ve had the most unfair start in life, you can lose your way for the rest of your life. You need someone to help you find your path.

MCR Pathways will exist until every young person has someone to help them find their way.

Our work is more than just numbers. It’s about real, human stories and helping young people find that vital spark.

As a mentor, it’s about offering hope, encouragement, and a safe space for young people to talk about the things that matter, share their passions, believe in themselves, expand their aspirations, and dream big for the future.

Can you think of someone who believed in your potential, or encouraged you to follow your aspirations when you were younger?

You have that same power to transform a young person’s life today. The commitment you will invest will be truly immeasurable and its impact will last far beyond the time you spend together.  Ignite that spark to become an unforgettable fire of potential, hope and purpose.

No one communicates that power better than our mentors and mentees – View our video case studies below to learn more about the impact of mentoring.

Not only that, we want to deliver compelling, tailored messages to inspire others to support our mission – from prospective partners in schools, local authorities and businesses to donors, challenge fundraisers, and many more.

No prior experience of mentoring is required

Simply bring a listening ear, empathy and understanding to volunteering as a mentor, as well as a passion for building confidence, instilling self belief, awakening ambition, and much more.

Dedicate an hour a week, in a secondary school near you, to meet with your young person during the school day – typically between 9am-3pm. Meetings will run during the school term, and we hope you can commit to mentoring for a minimum period of a year.
