A mentoring charity has shown the positive impact it is having in Glasgow as record numbers of care-experienced young people progress to college, university and full-time work in the city.
MCR Pathways, which provides in-school mentors to support young people in or around the care system on a weekly basis, has illustrated the figures as part of its annual academic report.
Within its report, the transformational outcomes it has achieved in the last three years include a 40% increase in care-experienced, mentored young people attaining Level 4 literacy and numeracy levels and a jump from 22% to 79% returning to school after fourth year.
Over the course of 2017 and 2018, MCR Pathways has doubled the number of young people it supports each week in Glasgow to over 1, 300 across all 30 secondary schools within the City Council area.
