Kevin’s Letter to St Mungo

St Mungo Stairs

“For a long time, I felt lost. I felt that my sound had been silenced. MCR have helped me to make positive changes. Because of them my sound is never silenced. I’m stronger and much louder now. I want to help other young people find their talent. I want to be their listening ear, their champion, and help them find their voice.”

MCR’s young people have been writing letters to St Mungo, the patron Saint of Glasgow. They want to share their letters with you. They want to show you all that they’ve achieved so far, despite the adversities they’ve faced, using the symbolism of St Mungo’s miracles – the bird that never flew, the tree that never grew, the bell that never rang and the fish that never swam.

Today, we share Kevin’s letter. You can support inspiring young people like Kevin in 2018. You can give them that voice and help them flourish.

In January, we’ll launch our #GiveAnHour campaign. One hour a week makes the difference to our city’s care experienced and disadvantaged young people. You don’t need any special qualifications. You just have to want to help.
